Performing
Highlights
Ms.Cate has performed in Japan, Taiwan, Europe (four
solo tours), and throughout California.
As owner/director of Unexpected Company, she has performed and
coordinated entertainment for thousands of events since 1980.
Marti has danced with Lucas Hoving, and toured the West Coast
with Morning Glory Theater. A member of Screen Actors Guild
and AFTRA, she has numerous film and television credits.
Teaching Highlights
Ms. Cate teaches performing and movement arts internationally
in a wide variety of settings, including universities, museums,
retreats, and artist residencies. She offers instruction in
French, German and English. Central to her work is use of the
performing arts as dynamic tools for discovery, communication,
and healing.
Education
• Bachelors degree in French, magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa;
University of Arizona
• Secondary Teaching Credential (Grades 7-12) in French, Spanish,
Italian, English; Sonoma State University
• Masters degree in Interdisciplinary Arts; San Francisco State
University
• Additional studies include mime, tap and modern dance, Chinese
animal forms, ballet, voice, acting, and theater
and dance improvisation.
Availability
Marti's flexible schedule allows for travel to engagements
nationally and internationally.
